Fourth Option Kickstarter campaign orders

Hello KS Supporters,
I've recently received a couple of emails from our backers stating they haven't received their orders up to this point since I posted about our Wefunder campaign. Someone stated they reached out several times with nothing more than "it's on the way". I've never made that statement to any of our backers. I've followed up with order status updates and reshipped orders when I've discovered any type of issue. I've sent out updates throughout our entire campaign asking for anyone who haven't received their order, please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can assist. I've been very transparent and tried to update everyone since the very beginning and still continue to do so.
Upon further research on our side since I received those couple of emails, the supporters who reached out have not completed their BackerKit survey as of today. If you have not received your order from our KS campaign, please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can assist you.

It has been a pleasure communicating with you the progress of our initial production run of FO all the way through the receiving and shipping process. We couldn’t have achieved what we have so far without you, and we know there is so much more in store if we build on what’s been established.
Improvements are made along the way to every product made since the beginning of time, and Fourth Option is no exception. We have been fortunate enough to achieve proof of concept while also receiving valuable feedback from users on what changes can be made to improve our product. We are looking to improve the lock/unlock and removing the screw as well. We will increase the durability of Fourth Option while also including our brand name on the product to ensure customers can differentiate FO from others replicating our product. We will also fully enclose the bottom of the carry case(s) to ensure everyone’s FO stays clean from debris. We will also improve any other minor detail to the eating utensil and carry case if needed.
We are creating a new category of eating utensils that’s been needed for decades, well before the global pandemic. We have no direct competition in the market as there is no other eating utensil like ours that combines the ease of use, function, style, and no awkward hand motion that is uncomfortable and unfamiliar with everyday use. This is a multi-billion-dollar untapped market that has been overlooked by everyone until now.
I’ve bootstrapped FO and have been on this journey mostly alone since the beginning. I’ve learned that no great product/company is built alone and I’m now seeking outside Angel Investors/VC’s to assist while I gather a team around me to help grow Fourth Option. I would like to offer you the opportunity to invest in Fourth Option in exchange for equity. I will start with a SAFE raise on the platform I decide to use. SAFE stands for Simple Agreement for Future Equity. I encourage anyone unfamiliar with how a SAFE works, please do your research to find out if this would be the right investment for you. I will set aside at least 10% equity of our product/business in exchange for an investment to all who choose to contribute once the SAFE converts to equity. You will have an investment stake in Fourth Option LLC which will help provide us with the needed capital to make all the necessary changes to improve our product, form a team, and start marketing globally. This pool of funds will be used to build and grow FO into what I know will be a very successful business soon.
Fourth Option was made possible only through your generosity to back a product that was only and idea through imagination. Now I’m asking you to do the same and invest in our fund-raising campaign and receive equity in FO. This method of raising capital will allow people who don’t have a large amount of excess funds to invest in a company at a very early stage. The long-term returns could be valuable to you and future generations if you invest in a company like FO at the ground level of a company’s formation. I want you to be fully aware that with any investment, there is no guarantee of a return. It’s similar to investing in the stock market. Everyone invests with hopes of receiving a large return. If you believe in our product and can see the vision of Fourth Option being a global brand/product, I encourage you to invest. If not, I thank you for giving FO a try.
During my research, I have come up with two platforms to host our campaign and I’m trying to determine which would be the best to use for our funding needs. The two platforms in consideration are Wefunder.com or StartEngine.com. These are crowdfunding websites similar to Kickstarter.com where everyone will have the opportunity to invest in a company in exchange for a share of the equity set aside in a company/business. The minimum investment would be $100, and you could invest as much as you choose. The more you invest, the more shares you would receive of the equity when the SAFE converts. I will let you know which platform we plan on using within the upcoming weeks.
I have provided a breakdown of how the $100 would be used to improve Fourth Option.
$100 Breakdown
$30 or 30% - R&D/Improvements to the build, FO branding on each utensil
$25 or 25% - Production/Inventory
$20 or 20% - Marketing /Ads/Refinement of target audience. Growing FO brand globally through marketing content and SM ex. TikTok, Facebook, Instagram ads
$10 or 10% - IP Protection Internationally. We have patent pending utility and design patents filed in the US already, but we will need International Patent Protection from countries attempting to duplicate FO for resale. Mainly China and any other countries we deem our product would be susceptible to replication.
$3 or 3% - Shipping/Freight Charges
$3 or 3% - Attorney Fees/Legal Documentation.
$9 or 9% - Miscellaneous. Unforeseen expenses associated with FO production.

Fourth Option Last Update

Hello Backers,
I want to let you all know that this will likely be the last message you receive from me regarding our Fourth Option Kickstarter campaign. This has certainly been a roller coaster experience for me as I've stepped out of my comfort zone and launched a product that we hope will become a household item in homes and in restaurant around the world.
We shipped out all orders to backers who have completed their BackerKit survey about two weeks ago. If you have filled out your survey and have not received your order, please send us an email to [email protected] and we'll check on the status of your shipment. We still have roughly 70 BackerKit surveys that have not been filled out up to this point so I will be reaching out to all who have not filled out their survey individually via email.
I've learned so much during the launch and failure and relaunch of our KS campaign. I've learned to make sure to budget all expenses as much as possible to cover unforeseen issues like international and domestic shipping costs just to name a couple. I also learned that when you have a deadline in mind for your project, you have to account for unforeseen manufacturer delays and issues as well so make sure you don't get too discouraged when delays happen because, there will likely be delays.
I've always tried to be as transparent and honest as possible regarding our campaign and my wife has scolded me for it. I don't have any fancy engineering or marketing degrees that have gotten me to this point. I just want everyone to know that I'm just a normal guy with a God given idea trying to bring a product to market and hopefully it will turn into a business some day. There have been some ups and many downs during this experience. We have lost money and made absolutely nothing launching this product and that's something I have come to understand and live with. Most products when launched don't make any profits if you don't have any social media or marketing experience as I have neither. I only joined social media last summer because I was told that is the best way to get our product out to the masses with the least amount of cost. I quickly learned that I have no interest in social media and I loathe having to log onto any of the SM sites other than YouTube to find a tutorial video or a great motivational speaker like Brian Tracy, Les Brown, Vusi Thembekwayo, and Jim Rohn just to name a few.
My social media woes will continue until I can get our product in front of the right target audience so if anyone is interested in posting social media content using their FO and tagging fourth_option on Instagram and TikTok or @4thOption on Facebook, we are willing to give you an extra discount towards a future purchase. If you are an influencer on social media, we are willing to share in any profits you generate for our product. Reach out to me at [email protected] if interested.
